A continent, at the far end of geography… Quiet for generations, abandoned to silence for generations… The Africa continent which is forgotten by humanity… A land still untouched today… A region where sun does not rise… Humanity and its beliefs left behind seriously… Couldn’t reach centuries, centuries stayed away from it… An understanding that information almost never visits… A race for which words became inadequate… Why was it on display in centuries in this way…? Let’s seek the answer together…
When we reach for the world history via shelves of libraries of ancient ages, we will doubtlessly witness that history of many incidents are kept on their shelves… A truth everybody knows; World History is the story of civilizations developed by humans in various places of world for centuries. Today, a world history beginning with Mesopotamia, Egypt and East Mediterranean is brought to humanity. Doubtlessly, all these are a scene of B.C. Afterwards, arriving China, with the contribution of India and America, carried intercontinental culture and harmony to history together…
As it is seen, Africa does not exist in this history separation reaching 1200 B.C. Then, when did Africa take hold of the time? As you may guess, harmony of Africa with centuries began approximately in 1000’s B.C. Maybe it was clear then, the fact that they can’t catch the age or hold on to civilization… The world drew the picture of belatedness even in those times. But there was a difference again, from the others… It was weak but it wouldn’t be erased from the world… It was strong, with its struggle… When we look; it didn’t disappear in the world unlike Hittites, Assyrians, Aztecs or Incas who were dominant once but got disappeared after a period of time… But even not disappearing was not enough for it to continue existence in the world… And window of Africa opening to today was left in dark…
With other countries take part in the world, when we look, 21st century is quite a colorful window… Both in political and economic aspects, and in cultural meanings, continents are in a divided condition… Perceptions are different, regimes are various… When we look; Middle East still watches Syria internal conflicts and the regime shown by Esad… On the other hand, a desire for revolution is still being talked but it’s not executed.
America continues to be supreme power; economic crises it laid to its history can neither stop nor slow down it… It neither stops its steps on the routes of the world as the commander, continues a regime in a scale which is not in balance with the perfect portrait of its past… Attentions at this point are appreciatively superior that; I’m mentioning a nationally who could survive the serious crisis spread in its past, in 1929… It’s in the last few years that; it recovered from the effects of economic crisis shaking the world thanks to the mortgage it opened, and it continues “regime domination” in the world today… On the other hand, its approach among countries in the world reflects on a scale which is enough to interfere to other countries and make them quiet when a problem arises and make a last dot. In Greece, well-known crisis is still makes European Union countries think, solution mechanisms and compensation programs are planned for oncoming years… But they can’t go further except from guesses spread over time…
On the other hand, war policy used by Israel received serious reaction and reprimand of remaining half of the world… Hamas is one of most bleeding scars of Middle East… Doubtlessly, Palestine was a country founded in the center of was… It had a society suffering for years, which can’t make their voice be heard by the world… Only a society that carries fires in their lives enough to make a reflection all over the world with their pain…
Not mentioning Egypt is almost impossible in the 21st century world… Mursi and the window of Egypt… As we already know; today Egypt receives marital and financial aid worth 1.5 billion dollars from USA. Aid in question is granted due to the peace settlement Egypt signed with Israel. Here, doubtlessly we can read the economic power of USA in the Middle East clearly… If we pass to Central Asia, it’s impossible to reject the power and domination of technological power settled in Japan and China. Domination of world of technology in 21st century is in hands of Central Asia.
Mentioning OPEC, a world power, is almost an obligation of earth. Because it pictures a confederation formed by participation of almost 13 countries who export petrol and who hold two third of petrol reserved in their hands in the world. And therefore, in state of affairs, OPEC represents the success of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran and Venezuela…
Then where is Africa in the world? And maybe the sole question that should be asked; even though it has a perfect geographical size; what were the untouched points of Africa which is unable to own a world power suits for this size? What was it; it remained missing in the world?
And today; at the regions talked about on round table, future of Africa is discussed… When we look, in a place far away from political progresses, unhappy children grow… Without knowing what being a child is. Being happy when seeing foods, instead of toys… Thanking god for having more than two pieces of clothes, instead of wearing beautiful dresses… Is it a condition beyond reality? Not at all…
A continent that falls quite behind of 21st century, trying to reach yesterday, not today… Suffered from poverty a lot… There is a world there, which can’t sleep due to starvation. Doubtlessly in the middle of all these, lands that education and science never arrives at… A life where investments are extremely insufficient… Yes; Africa is one of most central countries where children born tearfully…
And today; poverty is the key word opening to Africa… In the perspective of 21st century world, where economic and social problems reached their peak, it is a country where “hunger” concept is experienced in deepest way. But the meaning this word receives is not only a physical hunger… Because; Africa is a country stuck between not only the narrowness of scientific aspects and aspects about life, but also between urbaneness of world truths formed in the mathematics presented by economic statistics to the world and poverty…
