Taner Yildiz referred to Nabucco gas pipeline project and said, “Shah Deniz 2 consortium is the one to decide on which firm and project will continue after us.
“Turkey does not have a position to decide by itself on it,” Yildiz said at the “Caspian Natural Gas and European Energy Security” titled panel in Energy and Economic Summit organized by the Atlantic Council in Istanbul on Thursday.
Yildiz informed attendees about Turkey’s current petroleum pipeline projects and agreements and said, “In the past two years, Turkey grew about 25 percent just in natural gas field. Figures came out more than what we expected.”
“I believe that Nabucco, ITGI and TANAP pipeline projects which will carry Caspian resources to Europe have minuses and pluses. We agreed with our Azerbaijani friends that 1800-2000km part will be a channel project,” he said.
Minister Yildiz said that although there was no “Energy” title opened during Turkey’s EU accession process, EU had to consider Turkey’s works in the energy projects.
