Turkey’s economy added 545 thousand jobs in July 2012, the country’s statistics authority said Monday.
The jobless rate dropped by 0.7 point to 8.4 percent in July 2012 from the same month a year earlier, TurkStat said, adding that the number of the unemployed dropped by 186 thousand y-o-y.
Number of the employed was up to 24,953 thousand to 25,498 thousand.
Non-agricultural unemployment was was down to 10.7 percent in July 2012 from 11.8 percent in July 2011, and youth unemployment dropped to 16.3 percent from 18.3 percent.
