The Turkish armed forces on Tuesday started to send supports to the Syrian boundary line after Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan warned that any Syrian military force approach its borderline will be treated as a threat to Turkey, reported Turkey Tribune
The private Cihan press agency stated some fifteen military vehicles, including tanks and cannons, were discharged to the border from Diyarbakır through Mardin. Tensions between Turkey and Syria hit afresh low last week when the latter downed a Turkish jet in international airspace.
Erdoğan told on Tues that Turkey will no more stand security threats from Syria along its borderline, farther escalating stresses. “The rules of involvement for the Turkish Armed Forces [TSK] have altered,” Erdoğan stated. “Any armed forces element that borders on the Turkish boundary line from Syria by setting a security risk and danger will be thought of a threat and treated as a military target.”
