After the diplomatic crisis with Egypt, Erdogan advocates they are on the side of Egyptian people and not supporting the coup makers.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan remarked they are in favor of Egyptian people by saying “We are in favor of oppressed people, we take stand near the Egyptian people,” during his speech in Trabzon for the opening ceremony of some public works.
Erdogan critisized current Egyptian government and said, “We support the people who are in Rabaa al-Adawiya square. We will walk with them. We have never respected the coup makers. We will respect the will of Egyptian people, this is so in our country and in the world too.”
Regarding Turkish ambassador to Egypt Huseyin Avni Botsali, who was declared as persona non-grata by Egypt, Erdogan stated, “the coup makers had deported our ambassador, good luck with that. We also said good bye to their ambassador and downgraded diplomatic relations with Egypt to the level of charge d’affaires.”
Turkish PM highlighted diplomatic relations are not conducted by emotional responds saying, “If the feelings talk between states, the loser would be the one who speaks by emotion. We do not move with our senses.”
“Everyone must know that the capital can not plot route for governments now. The media centers, power centers, lobbies, gangs can no more chart out for Turkey. Ouw way is what the national will draws for us,” Erdogan said to emphasize the importance of will of people to determine the government in a country.
