Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that Turkey has been continuing its fight against terrorism in a determined way.
“We will keep fighting terrorism,” Erdogan said at a gathering in northeastern province of Trabzon.
There was need for solidarity and unity, he said, adding, “We will eradicate terrorism in the end.”
As a result of military operations held against militants of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party, Turkish security forces neutralized 716 militants since the beginning of the year.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has lasted for over 25 years. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organization by both the UN and the EU.
