Tickets for La Fura dels Baus’ “Istanbul, Istanbul” project on June 21 and 22 are close to selling out.
Combining music, theater, poetry, dance and performance art on one stage La Fura Dels Baus’ “Istanbul, Istanbul” show aims to take locals on a journey through the past and into the future. The group has staged more than 3,000 performances in 250 cities, reaching over 3 million people.
Started in 1979, La Fura Dels Baus diversified its creative labor in various fields, including open-air performances, digital theater, street theater and opera. Blurring the boundaries between the audience and the actor, the Catalan company’s original and remarkable performances developed in accordance with the characteristics of space, winning the group a large group of followers from around the world.
The performance is part of a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the IstanbulFoundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) and a reminder of the close relationship that the foundation has with the city.
“Istanbul, Istanbul” was commissioned by İKSV and invites the audience to an extraordinary feast of all that makes the city special.
The La Fura Dels Baus project will be performed on June 21 and 22 at the Haliç Camialtı Shipyard along the Golden Horn in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district.
