The West has to pay two costs, one of imperialistic attacks and the other of dubious policies. Why have there been no wars in Europe after WWII? Why are all the experiments carried out either in Asia or Africa? Like a farmer who sells milk to buy tobacco, the Muslim countries are selling oil to buy weapons. Unfortunately, Asia and Africa are such a market where everything sells and where religion is the dominant souk. And among all the items, chaos is the cheapest. Whether this chaos is the outcome of internal bedlam or the product of external stimuli, its perpetrators will definitely bear its brunt.
Though behind the Paris attack there lays the Saudi origins of the ISIS mindset, France should not forget its bloody interventions in Algeria. Wars end but injuries do not. The USA is fighting against the IS in Iraq but supporting it against the government of Basher al Assad in Syria. The culture of all Western countries till the Paris shootings. This heinous made the Western countries aware of their miscalculations. All of Europe as well as America is brimful with probable extremists and terrorists who may attack at any time, in any place.
The appeasement policy of the US and Europe toward the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Emirates in exporting the Wahabi extremist ideology and funding and patronizing of the hardliners is now troubling world peace. During the Russian invasions of Afghanistan, the US itself patronized and spread the jihadist philosophy around the globe of which now everyone is paying the price. If all such elements were arrested in the beginning, terrorist atrocities would not have reached such peaks..
The gradual succession of the Western countries to the corporate elite is deemed to sink global society. Commercialization and corporatization of politics is as dangerous as a suicide bomber. The corporate elite of the West is the architecture of the 4th generation warfare which has blurred the precincts between friends and foes, armed forces and civilians and war and peace. The parameters of war have become immeasurable, the tactics have changed, and we have, at the same time, many battles to fight in and out. The enemies have been so penetrated into us that we are fighting with ourselves. In this art of war, the enemy attacks on society, culture, traditions, values, beliefs, opinions, identities, ideologies and psychologies. Propaganda, non-state actors, media, economic hit-men are the major tools. Society is broken into different segments on sectarian, racial, linguistic and ethnic grounds. Terrorist organizations are crooked, trained and funded to accomplish such nasty designs. Every constituent of the state is targeted and sabotaged. It is equally true that the roots of all this fuss lies in the West.
Post modern ethos has become a real challenge for the West. Nature is just and it keeps balance in the universe, which is primary for its sustenance. When someone goes against nature, it reciprocates. Plummeted morality, augmented racism, generalized alcoholism, amplified old houses, escalated individualism and mounted drug addiction are skewing the cultural basis of the West. Individualism has eroded the socialization. The imposition of LGBT laws is utterly unnatural. There may have different opinions or definitions of morality keeping in view the accepted norms and values of a specific locality or community but nature remains the same. The theory of moral relativism that morality is relative to social, cultural, historical and personal circumstances becomes erroneous in many situations when its outcome proves inhumane. Morality is actually humanity. Moral universalism is akin to the laws of nature. That is why it is preached by most of the famous philosophers like Plato, Aristotle and Immanuel Kant. It does not mean that morality only originates from religion, but that history proves that divine religions have at least projected and propagated moral codes. Morality is the mixture of religiosity and rationality. There may have issues of human understanding especially in the cases when religion is traded for personal grudges but divinity is hardly against rationality. The West needs to rethink its moral degradation.
The psychological imbalance in which the fed-up individuals rise and provoke mass shootings and killing is becoming vogue. Every day we hear such news. A balanced society, culture or civilization does not produce such elements in a large numbers. This year, 253 gun shooting incidents have been reported in the US, in which 12,223 people have been killed and 24,722 others have been injured. From 1968 to 2011, more than 1.4 million people have been killed in the US due to the gun culture. Out of all these attacks during the ongoing year, 62 have been carried out in schools. One third of American populace has around 300 million guns which are equal to the overall US population; it means that every American whether a kid or an elderly person, male or female could possess a gun. This hints that there are systematic flaws and lacunas which are not only indispensable to be traced out but also demands revamping of the social structure.
After al-Qaida, ISIS is storming the West. ISIS is a mutually created evil. The democrats of the West and the autocrats of the Middle East have equal share both in its formation, handling and usage. There are many sleeping and potential cells of belligerents almost in all countries. Britain attacked Iraq and now its PM of that time is repenting upon his act. Money laundering to most of such elements is either sent from the Middle East or from the West. The Financial Times reports that Israel is the major beneficiary of IS oil as it is procuring seventy percent of its total oil exports. One way to weaken ISIS is to not to buy oil from it, as thiy is the major source of its income. The other is to control its supply line but it is only possible if its sponsors intend to. In many cases, social media of the pugnacious is also operated from the Western soil, it can also be curtailed there due to latest technologies but no practical measures are seen. The Syrian conflict has taken into almost all major countries of the world. Little miscalculation may result into huge losses. One piece of advice for Europe is that instead of entering into American shoes it should create its own world and should set its own priorities. And the same goes for Turkey as well.
