Nuland said they had no doubt that Syrian plane stopped by Turkey was carrying serious military equipment.
Spokesperson for the US Department of State, Victoria Nuland said that they had no doubt that the Syrian plane that was stopped by Turkey was carrying serious military equipment.
Replying to a question whether there were weapons on that plane at a daily press briefing, Nuland said, “We’ve had a pretty comprehensive accounting from the Turkish side of precisely what they found. But I’m going to leave it to them to share in public what they found. I think Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan made some pretty definitive statements about that. We have no doubt that this was serious military equipment.”
Answering another question, Nuland said, “There are no Security Council sanctions on Syria because Security Council members Russia and China continue to block those.”
“We are saying, as we have been saying for almost a year now, that no responsible country ought to be aiding and abetting the war machine of the Assad regime,” she said.
