UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon renews his call on Hezbollah to drop their weapons.
United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said on Wednesday that the Syria issue was seriously affecting neighbouring Lebanon.
In a report to the Security Council, he stated that 800,000 refugees have fled to Lebanon due to the ongoing war in Syria and this has created many financial and social problems in the neighboring country.
Condemning the shelling on Labenese border as well as the air space violations, Ban called all sides to respect each other’s territories.
Secretary-General renewed his call on Hezbollah militants allied with Bashar al Assad’s forces, urging them to drop their weapons.
“Lebanese intervention in Syria war, including Hezbollah’s role is a great concern,” Ban said.
