Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said a regime change in Syria was inevitable as rebel forces advance in increasingly more parts of the country.
“There is no turning back from a regime change in Syria. We are getting prepared for it. The world is getting prepared for it and the Syrian people are getting prepared for it. Actors of a transitional period need to get ready without leaving any room for a power vacuum once Bashar is gone,” Erdogan told a live interview on state-run TRT television.
Erdogan also said Turkey continued to welcome Syrians fleeing the violence, adding that Syrian refugees staying in camps in Turkey exceeded 140 thousand.
