Turkey’s Hattat Holding has cancelled a plan to jointly produce cars with Iran’s Khodro due to recent international tensions with the Islamic republic and a fresh move by Turkey’s Tofaş to launch studies to design a domestic automobile.
“Right now we’ve frozen this investment, but I can’t say we have stopped it altogether. We are closely following regional developments and developments in Turkey regarding the domestic automobile. We have not severed ties with Iran and are still meeting with them two to three times a month,” said İbrahim Hattat, who runs Hattat Holding’s automotive group.
