Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that their policy as of now would be to facilitate national reconciliation in Palestine.
Abbas attended a dinner hosted in his honor as well as the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan by the Palestinian Embassy in Ankara to celebrate Palestine’s new status in the United Nations (UN) as a ‘non-member observer state’ on Tuesday.
Speaking at the dinner, Abbas underlined that break-up among Palestinians should end.
“The whole world now must see a single state by looking at Palestine,” Abbas noted.
“It is possible to end the (Israeli) occupation through talks,” Abbas indicated.
“As the representatives of the Palestinian people, we will do all we possibly can to erect a state whose capital would be Jerusalem,” Abbas stressed.
“I want to see the flags of Palestine and Turkey hoisted in Jerusalem,” Abbas also said.
