Ihsanoglu condemned riots leaving three people dead and causing the destruction of houses of worship and more than 400 homes.
Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly denounced the reported riots which erupted in Minbyar hamlet of Rakhine State in the west of Myanmar.
Ihsanoglu condemned the riots leaving three people dead and causing the destruction of houses of worship and more than 400 homes.
The Secretary General urged the government of Myanmar to take all necessary steps to end the violence undertaken by some gangs against the Rohingya minority and restore calm to the region.

Rakhine state’s officials said that 56 people, including 31 women, have been killed and more than 2,000 houses have been set on fire during the clashes which have been continuing in four states in the west of the country since October 21.
