Today, we are in the most important point in terms of history. We will make a choice, and continue our own way.
The most basic thing to realize when making a choice is that even when we look after centuries it can be clearly seen how a wise decision we have had.
That is why, it is important to act by taking lessons from the past. We either live the second printing case of our history or we will be a developed society who takes lessons from this historical case.
The point which is agreed about late arrival of the printing press in our lands was the perception that a certain occupational group would lose their income. This perception maybe allowed this occupational group to continue their revenues for a while in the same way but they caused their society wher
e they live to be underdeveloped in all respects. And as a result, they lost their revenues again. They turned to the different field of professions.
Today, the ongoing debate about copyright law is the reflection of this case which will appear centuries later. One of the only means which improve the societies is “knowledge”. And although the specific sector fetch when information reaches to people with many restrictions, it is a serious drawback at the point of the development of society.
This situation needs to be told basically. In today’s conditions, the term establishing the link between society and the manufacturer and so-called “copyright” does not have the necessary infrastructure in order to progress our society.
If we realize this problem and start to put into words, it will not be so difficult to design many alternatives. Otherwise, we may deplore that “copyright” reform arrived us 200 years later.
The important thing is to read the history, not to memorize but design the future by taking lessons from it.
