The personal belongings and photographs of the famous Bosnia and Herzegovina leader, Alija Izetbegovic, are on display in an exhibition in İzmir.
Bosnia and Herzegovina honorary agent Kemal Baysak gave information about the exhibition being shown at the İzmir Art Center, saying that despite being imprisoned in his youth, Izetbegovic always fought for his people and that the leader was like Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Atatürk. According to Baysak, Izetbegovic means, “the struggle.”
Izetbegovic was a Bosnian activist, lawyer, author, philosopher and politician, who, in 1990, became the first president of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He served in this role until 1996, when he became a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, serving until 2000.
