Acclaimed contemporary video artist and occasional filmmaker Kutluğ Ataman has said he is planning to make a new feature film starring Hülya Avşar.
Ataman made the announcement on Tuesday in Antalya during a surprise visit to the ongoing 49th Altın Portakal (Golden Orange) International Film Festival, where Avşar is the head of the national feature film competition jury, the festival’s organizers announced in a written statement they issued Tuesday.
The upcoming film, whose details are being kept under wraps by the artist, will also star actress Belçim Bilgin and “one of the most distinguished actresses of Turkish cinema, whose name will be announced shortly,” according to the Altın Portakal statement.
“To be working with one of the best actresses of the cinema will be wonderful. Hülya is my lucky charm,” Ataman commented about Avşar’s casting in his new film.
