Hamas-Israel Prisoner Exchange: 183 Palestinians Released in Fourth Round
Hamas and Israel continued their prisoner exchange, with Hamas releasing three Israeli civilian hostages from Gaza while Israel freed 183 Palestinian detainees.

The Fourth Round of Prisoner Swap
In this latest swap, Hamas handed over Keith Siegel, Ofer Calderon, and Yarden Bibas to the Red Cross, which then transferred them to Israeli forces in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli authorities released 183 Palestinian prisoners as part of the ongoing agreement.
Who Are the Released Prisoners?
Among those freed:
- 18 had been serving life sentences,
- 54 had received long prison terms,
- 111 had been arrested after the October 7, 2023, events in Gaza.
Hamas also stated that seven of those released would be sent to countries outside Palestine.

Previous Prisoner Exchanges
This fourth swap follows earlier exchanges, where:
- Hamas freed 10 Israeli hostages from Gaza,
- Israel released 400 Palestinian prisoners.

What Happens Next?
The prisoner exchange remains a key issue in the broader negotiations between Hamas and Israel. Mediators continue working to secure further releases. As both sides assess the situation, these negotiations will influence future exchanges and possible ceasefire discussions.
