Turkey’s second national earth observation satellite, Göktürk-2, will be launched into space from a base in China between Dec. 15 and 25. Göktürk-2 was financed by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey(TÜBITAK) and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI). The satellite will be sent to China’s Jiuquan Space Station within the first week of November. Göktürk-2 was tested in France. It weighs 450 kilograms and has a resolution of 2.5 meters.
All computer software and the computer for the satellite were fully manufactured in Turkey.
