Campaigning for regional elections in Catalonia ended on Friday night leaving today as a day of reflection across the region ahead of the vote.

With 135 parliamentary seats available, the centre-right Catalan Nationalist Coalition of regional president Artur Mas is ahead in the polls.
He has made independence from Spain a central issue and has promised to hold a referendum on independence to test the popularity of the possible creation of a free Catalonia in Europe.
The two main parties against independence are the Popular Party of Catalonia and The Socialist Party of Catalonia with each hoping to be the second largest force in the Catalan parliament.
Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has warned that the region would have to re-apply to join the European Union.
Polls open on Sunday morning with over 5.4 million people elegible to cast their ballot.
