İstanbul, 1950s. Ali (Kenan İmirzalıoğlu) is the teenage son of Bulgarian parents who migrated to Turkey during the 1940s and settled in İstanbul’s Eyüp quarter. Ali falls in love with Münire (Tuğçe Kazaz), the daughter of the owner of a local open-air cinema, with whom he runs away and marries. Ali’s irrepressible sense of equality and justice causes the couple, now with two sons, to move from one Anatolian town to another within the course of a “long story” that stretches more than 20 years, into the late 1970s, and thousands of kilometers of railways.
