The eagerly anticipated fourth and final installment of acclaimed Turkish author Yaşar Kemal’s “Bir Ada Hikayesi” (An Island Story) tetralogy will hit bookstores on Oct. 5, the Anatolia news agency reported on Tuesday.
Titled “Çıplak Deniz Çıplak Ada” (Naked Sea, Naked Island), the novel took Kemal, now 89, eight years to complete. “This tetralogy to me is not like a novel, but a different narrative style in which I shed all my pain, sorrow, anger, joy and love,” Kemal told Anatolia in Tuesday’s exclusive interview.
