Idlib | “Watad” company reduces fuel prices in areas held by HTS and factions, as Turkish lira’s value increases

Reliable sources have informed SOHR that “Watad” company has reduced again fuel prices in areas under the control of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions. The petroleum company has set the new prices of fuel as follows:

  • The price of gasoline at 4.65 TL.
  • The price of imported diesel at 4.55 TL.
  • The price of refined diesel reached 3.90 TL.
  • The price of refined diesel of second-best quality at 3.65 TL.

This comes as the exchange rate of the Turkish lira against US dollar increased.

On November 10, “Watad” company has reduced fuel prices in areas under the control of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions, as the exchange rate of the Turkish lira against US dollar going up. The petroleum company has set the new prices of petrol and imported oil with a decrease of 15 Turkish piasters per litre, while the price of a cylinder of gas witnessed a decrease of two Turkish liras.

On the other hand, the “Salvation Government” has added 25 grams to the net weight of a bread pack without changing the pack’s price or the number of loaves.

These developments come after successive increases of prices under the pretext of “Turkish currency plunge”.

In November, fuel prices was increased several times, as the price of a gas cylinder reached 76 TL, and the price of petrol reached 5.10 TL per litre, while imported oil reached 5.00 TL per litre.
