Whatever we say will not make any difference. Children, women, innocents, civilians, orphans, widows, tears, blood, wounds… and death. Is there any word that might have slightest influence on the hearts of those who push the buttons for the bombs to be dropped?
Geopolitics, geostrategy, influence, gains, expansion, interests, competition, rivalry and enmity of political decision makers have made them blind.
No matter who you are and which identity you have; if you are a human being, you should be able to feel the pain in the heart of a five year old child who lost parents, home, country and future.
Where is the world leading?
Innocent screams of children and women do not have as much value as one clownish Tweet of a politician.
How did we become so indifferent? Emotions, feelings, relations and lives have lost their meanings. Every day, we see pictures and videos on our mobile devices posted on social media. Can we really differentiate between virtual and real?
In Syria today the colour of tears, blood, smoke and chemicals have come together to paint one of the most tragic paintings of recent history. Yet, we are unable to grasp the pain, sorrow, grief that it is exhibiting.
The United States, the UK, Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, France, Germany… and so many others are active in Syria. Everyone has its own agenda.
Russia is trying to keep Assad regime afloat, because it permits the existence of Russian military base and influence in Syria.
Turkish authorities say Turkey doesn’t stand with any country on Syria and that Turkey is in Syria for Syrian people, to fight terrorists and for securing its borders.
The only dimension which is never calculated is the “human lives”.
Globalization, democracy, human rights, technology, freedom, respect for human dignity, justice… international politics has buried all human values in Syria.
I am afraid that if we close our eyes and ears to the calamities in Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan or Rohingya; our children will one day have to face the consequences.
Moral values are evaporated. Fifty shades of immorality have overwhelmed wisdom and virtue.
HAMLET:
O, I die, Horatio;
The potent poison quite o’er-crows my spirit:
I cannot live to hear the news
He has my dying voice;
So tell him, with the occurrents, more and less,
The rest is silence.
HORATIO:
Are here arrived give order that these bodies
High on a stage be placed to the view;
How these things came about: so shall you hear
Of carnal, bloody, and unnatural acts,
Of accidental judgments, casual slaughters,
Of deaths put on by cunning and forced cause,
And, in this upshot, purposes mistook
Fall’n on the inventors’ reads: all this can I
Truly deliver.
