Turkey will increase high-tech security measures on the Syrian border, Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz has stated. He said that security efforts against threats from Syria would be completed by the end of 2016. He also noted that security at the Turkish-Syrian border would improve with technology every year.
The Turkish army began shelling the Syrian side of the border last week, targeting the PYD, the Syrian affiliate of the terrorist PKK group. This was done in an effort to halt the advance of the PYD/YPG terrorists towards Azaz, a Syrian town north of Aleppo.
