Turkey has rejected the claims of Israel’s defence minister, Moshe Yaalon, who has accused Turkey of buying oil from Daesh, echoing claims made by Russia in recent months.
Moshe Yaalon told reporters in Athens that Daesh “enjoyed Turkish money for oil for a very, very long period of time” and that they had also allowed its fighters and terrorists to move through Europe to Syria and Iraq and back.
The Turkish government has thoroughly rebuffed the accusation, and has been supported by officials within the United States, who also claim the information is incorrect, who last month rejected Russian allegations of Turkish government involvement.
