Candidates for 21 provinces including 7 greater municipalities Istanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli, Balikesir, Sakarya, Tekirdag and Mardin have been announced by PM Erdogan.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Thursday the mayoral candidates of the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party for 2014 local elections, which will be held on March 30.
The incumbent mayor Kadir Topbas will run for Istanbul again, while the incumbent mayor Recep Altepe for Bursa, the incumbent mayor Ibrahim Karaosmanoglu for Kocaeli and Ahmet Edip Ugur for Balikesir, the incumbent mayor Zeki Tocoglu for Sakarya, Mustafa Yel for Tekirdag, Mehmet Vecdi Kahraman for Mardin, Mucahit Yanilmaz for Elazig, the incumbent mayor Muzaffer Kulcu for Corum, Mehmet Danis for Canakkale, Kazim Arslan for Yozgat, Feyat Asya for Mus, Ahmet Gunsen for Edirne, Selahattin Minsolmaz for Kirklareli, the incumbent mayor Faruk Akdogan for Nigde, Ali Ilbas for Siirt, the incumbent mayor Hasan Unver for Nevsehir, Mehmet Saygili for Kirikkale, the incumbent mayor Yakup Kocal for Yalova, Hamza Ince for Yalova and Mete Memis for Bayburt.
