Syria’s Kurds have accorded “to act in together” against Bashar al-Assad, an official from the Syrian Kurdish National Council (SKNC) has told.
“Kurdish groups in Syria will speak in a united voice to the international arena and will act in together against the Assad regime. The decision to combine is an historical step for Kurds in Syria and the Syrian opposition,” Shivan Hussein, the SKNC representative in Turkey, stated in the Anatolia news agency.
The concord among the Syrian Kurdish groups was assured following week-long dialogues in Arbil brokered by Massoud Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq.
Hussein told Syria’s Kurds have also accorded to arrange a joint commission known as the High Kurdish Council.
The arising against President Bashar al-Assad started 16 months ago and has kept going as Assad is unwilling to fulfill the demands of the Syrian people.
