Turkey’s industrial production indicator has raised by 5.8 percentage in May, when compared to the same month of last year.
According to figures for May 2012 released by the Turkish Institute of Statistics (TUIK), the calendar set production index in May 2012 increased by 6 percent when compared to May 2011, and seasonal and calendar adjusted industrial production index arose 1.1 percent when compared to the previous month.
As for the sub spheres of industry, the manufacturing sector indicator raised by 5.8 percent, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index increased by 7.3 percent. Touching upon these figures, Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan stated, “The exportation is the engine of industrial production, as well as employment.
The economy will keep on growing owing to net exportations in the second quarter, just like it occurred in the first quarter.”
