Departing from Paris on Aug. 30, the Venice Simplon Orient Express is set to arrive in Turkey today.
According to the written statement made by the Turkish State Railways, the legendary train departed from Paris on Aug. 30, starting its traditional yearly voyage to Istanbul passing through Vienna, Budapest, Bucharest and Varna en route. Due to the road construction going on in the Çerkezköy-Halkalı region in Istanbul, the passengers on the train will be transferred by buses from Ispartakule to the Sirkeci Terminal.
The train, which will depart from Ispartakule on Sept. 6 and start its voyage to Venice through Bucharest, Sinai, Budapest and Vienna, has 15 carriages including eight wagon-lit carriages, two saloon cars, one bar car, three restaurant cars and a service car accommodating 160 passengers in total.
