Egypt’s first elected president will stay in detention for 30 more days.
Egypt’s ousted president Mohamed Morsi has been remanded into custody for an additional 30 days on charges of spying for the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
Saad al-Katatni, leader of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party and former parliamentary speaker, was also remanded into custody for 15 days on the same charges, according to a statement by investigating judge Hassan Samir.
Arrest warrants have been issued for 32 other Muslim Brotherhood leaders who also face travel bans.
