U.S. philosopher Noam Chomsky said that U.S. and Israel were left alone in UN during voting for Palestine’s status.
Speaking to AA on Thursday regarding the voting for Palestine’s bid to become a “non-member observer state” at the UN, Chomsky said that the U.S. and Israel were left alone and added, “the whole world has shown that they are against them. This is the major indicator to tell them that things change around the world.”
Chomsky said, “U.S. has tried to put Palestine off from their bid, however it was unsuccessful. This caused a deep international isolation for the U.S. Along with that the U.S. is isolated at the UN as well, and it is not getting the results they wished.”
Chomsky added that it was not possible to think that the International Criminal Court (ICC) would carry on with something to disturb the U.S.
He noted that Palestine would be the target of aggressive politics of the U.S. and Israel, even after Palestine upgraded its UN status as a “non-member observer state” and said, “there will not be much change with the new status of Palestine, despite of all of our wishes and desires.”
Chomsky claimed that with today’s world order, the positive changes and peaceful solutions for the Middle East were not being realistic, and said that the U.S. and Israel would continue with their racketeering and punishing politics.
Noam Chomsky has said, “in my point of view, it is tough for Palestine to become a full member at the UN. The U.S. will continue with its politics towards Palestine.”
